Hi, I’m Amit Sharma.

I build digital products, help founders build better ones, and spend a lot of time thinking about how technology changes the way we solve problems.

Over the last 18 years, I’ve worked across fintech, insurance, wealth management, education, consumer products, and SaaS. My career has taken me from large organizations like ICICI Securities to high-growth startups like Coverfox, and today to working independently as a fractional product leader, startup advisor, mentor, and educator.

Along the way I’ve discovered that my favourite part of product management isn’t shipping features. It’s understanding people, simplifying complexity, and helping teams make better decisions.

What I’m doing now

Today I divide my time between four areas.

  • Building products of my own, including DotDotDone and other experiments exploring AI-assisted product development.
  • Advising founders and leadership teams on product strategy, execution, and scaling digital businesses.
  • Teaching product thinking through workshops, guest lectures, and startup programs.
  • Mentoring early-stage founders through Afthonia Lab, WISE Tech Labs at SPJIMR and other startup ecosystems.

AI has become a significant part of my work, not because it’s fashionable, but because it has fundamentally changed how products can be imagined, prototyped, and delivered.

A few chapters

Coverfox

As Product Head, I led both consumer and SaaS initiatives. We transformed legacy insurance systems into products that served both customers and enterprise clients, while improving business outcomes through careful product and data decisions.

ICICI Securities

I led digital product initiatives across investments and wealth management, including scaling the direct mutual fund platform and building analytics tools that significantly improved advisor adoption.

Poker

For several years I played poker professionally.

Poker taught me lessons that still influence every product decision I make: managing uncertainty, making decisions with incomplete information, separating outcomes from process, and staying emotionally disciplined under pressure.

It remains one of the most formative experiences of my career.

Building things

I’ve been building things for as long as I can remember.

Long before “indie hacker” became a term, I was creating online communities, games, websites, and side projects simply because I enjoyed making things.

That instinct hasn’t changed.

These days it shows up as products like DotDotDone, AI experiments, and open-source projects. Tomorrow it’ll probably be something entirely different.

Outside work

When I’m not building products, you’ll probably find me writing about product management, AI, UX, startups, decision-making, or experimenting with a new technology that caught my attention.

I’m also endlessly fascinated by languages, behavioural psychology, and the systems that help people make better decisions.

Let’s connect

Whether you’re building a startup, looking for product leadership, or simply enjoy thoughtful conversations about technology and products, I’d be happy to hear from you.
